Top 10 Summer Favorites
As summer is coming to end I cant help but think of all the exciting adventurers that we have had! Since last summer Payson was only 3-6 months old we got to do things like floating in the pool and taking a stroll around the park but this year she got to swim, and play at the park and run without the stroller! Here are our Top 10 Summer Favorites:
1. Swimming: She was all about the wah-wah (water) once she finally got in. She loves to splash!
2. Adventures of the walking trails: Payson is getting big enough to walk a ways without needing a stroller and we found this lovely walking trail with a pond, ducks, flowers and places to play along the way!
3. Evening Stroller Rides: I believe that no matter how stressful and crazy the day was that our evening walks made everything better! So peaceful and she loves to see me while we stroll and enjoy her milk.
4. Arts and crafts: We enjoyed editable finger paints , Chalk art, crayons and markers! All things arts and crafts are new and exciting to her!
5. Popsicle's: Payson really wasn't so sure about this. She kept saying "hot" when she really meant cold.
6. Bike Rides: She had a blast bike riding with her Papa Mark behind the big bike and Papa Sonny pushing her on her very own bike
7. Park Playtime: I still am amazed that she could hold herself up like this. She wanted to try the monkey bars and this is what happened! Strong little girl! Did I mention she LOVES to climb... everything!
8. The Zoo: This was her second trip to the Zoo however the first she was barley big enough to really see the animals. This time she got so excited over seeing the animals and making their sounds.
9. Let's get Dirty! We may love pretty clothes and accessories but this girl is not afraid of some dirt and worms
10. Fireworks: This was Payson first Fourth of July getting to see the fireworks... and she LOVED them!
Although summer was buckets of fun I am kind of excited for pumpkin patches, hayrides, trick or treating, leave piles and sweet little sweaters!!
Edible Play
I love getting outside, getting messy and letting her discover. Today we finger painted with yogurt. Vanilla yogurt + food coloring = hours of yummy fun. I used a gel food coloring and it did not stain the skin. This activity is going in the books for another day. Definitely toddler and mommy approved.
Payson turns ONE
We had some much fun celebrating Payson's first birthday with tons of gold glitter! I had a blast planning and creating decorations for her party!
Payson enjoyed her first taste of cake! She was so dainty with her cake eating and never really smashed or made a big mess.
Happy Grandparents! Thank you both for opening your home for Payson's birthday party and being such big parts of this special day!
Happy First Birthday Payson! You are loved by so many. Please slow down just a bit and be my tiny baby forever! Mommy and Daddy love you and are excited for many more birthdays to come!
Six more weeks of Payson!
Seeing her everyday and then looking at the pictures of her growing and changing over 12 weeks is very different. On a day to day basis I see her little personality grow and her movement and sounds develop. I know that I see her grow as well but putting the photos side by side really makes it real! I hope you enjoy six more weeks of our little beauty!
6 weeks of Payson
People aren't kidding when they say that time flies. Our little Payson is already 7 weeks old! So much has changed in these seven weeks that I can hardly remember the time before her! I would never trade a moment of it!
We have spent the last few weeks just staring at our little girl. She has lots of funny facial expressions & noises. Her most common expression is her tongue sticking out. As you can see from the photos below. When she is awake her tongue is out.
She loves to be swaddled up tight, likes a pacifier for just a few minutes, loves to hold our fingers, and LOVES to be cuddled. In the beginning she hated diaper changes because she did not like her clothes taken off. She has adjusted to the world now and doesn't seem to mind it so much. It was wonderful to go to Kansas and be with our family for the first three weeks.
It has also been wonderful to be back in our California home and have just our little family. Although there have been many nights I have wished my mom was not so far because of the colic crying, but we are making it threw thanks to evening car rides!
We have spent lots of time snuggling our little family of three + the dog & soaking up this amazing time together.
One Month New
Wow how time flies! I know I have not updated in almost 2 MONTHS! I could have never imaged everything that has happened in these two wonderful months. Labor ended in c-section and everyone made it out healthy. I have been blessed with a wonderful baby girl! I am proud to welcome Payson Marie Herring! here is some information on our amazing little one! More updates and photos coming soon!
